Caring for Others

Just as Jesus cared for the poor, healed the sick, shared joys and sorrow of friends and strangers, and offered forgiveness and reconciliation, Caring Ministries seeks to embody the love of Christ.

We offer several avenues for those who are interested in helping us provide loving care to others in our community.

Deacons visit the sick, minister to the elderly, support those who are grieving, serve Communion (in home and in worship), and offer gracious hospitality at memorial services. They partner in local mission initiatives, honor older members at our annual Young at Heart Luncheon, and host a number of other service events throughout the year. Deacons are elected by the congregation to serve three-year terms. We invite you to learn more about the qualifications and responsibilities of this important leadership position.

Hospitality Team

Hospitality has always been a hallmark of God’s people. You can help First Pres extend hospitality on Sunday mornings by being a welcoming face at the door, helping newcomers explore ways to connect, or assisting with preparations for our community lunch.
