In Scripture we learn what it means to be called by God.
In community, we learn how to live in faithful response to God’s call.
At First Pres, you will find many avenues for going deeper into Scripture, in both small group and larger group settings. Most groups meet on Sundays, but there are often opportunities on other days as well. Read about our summer groups here, and check the calendar for details on times and locations. Be sure to check back for news on our fall offerings, coming soon!
Emmaus Communities are groups of 20 to 60 adults at varying stages of life and faith. We meet every Sunday during Middle Hour (time) for conversation and study. We engage the deep questions of faith, looking beyond pat answers to a fuller understanding of how God’s wisdom shapes our lives. If you are new to First Pres, or looking for new ways to engage with others in our congregation, stop by any of our four Emmaus Communities. Advance registration is not required!
Sunday Morning Study
Sunday Morning Study is a small-group Bible study that also meets during Middle Hour. Our facilitated study of God’s Word alternates between the Hebrew and Christian testaments. We also reserve time for prayer and mutual encouragement. Contact:?
Women’s Bible Study
Women’s Bible Study meets on Friday mornings for small-group conversation and teaching to study The Story: The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People.
The Story pulls together select passages of the Bible to present the history of God’s revelation to humankind in an accessible timeline. This inventive approach to Scripture will help you locate your story within God’s Story. Contact:?
